Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 63rd Reading St Michael’s Scout Group are supporting ‘Turn Tilehurst Red for Remembrance Sunday.’ Parents started collecting plastic bottles over the summer holiday which were then cut ready for painting by the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and leaders. Over 500 bottles were used to make a fleur de lys and the number 100 to commemorate 100 years since the end of The First World War. The rest were hung in garlands from a tree. Everyone was really happy with the display and we have received many positive comments on it. It demonstrated team work at its best and was a fantastic achievement from all involved. The group has also talked to the young people about remembrance in their weekly meetings and will attend the remembrance parade at the triangle in Tilehurst.
